Three new paintings are now on display at the Tap and Mallet (381 Gregory Street, Rochester. These are all paintings I have done in the last few months and they will be up at the bar for a while. There are other artists showing there as well, my work is to your left at the end of the bar as you walk in. Check it!

A long gap in posts means I have been quite busy. The paintings that were on display at Tap and Mallet have come down and are back at my apartment for a little while. This is what The owner, Joe said on the T&M website about having my work in the bar:
“Unfortunately we have had to say goodbye to the freaky hybrid creatures in the bar area. They generated a curious reaction from many people but were definately a favorite of mine.”
In November some of these plus a few new ones will be going up in a restaurant in Canandaigua called Rio Tomatlan. More information on the opening to follow…

The opening of Karma Cab Boa was pretty interesting. A nice blend of media, styles, etc. “Carifercanus Homreamnos” was among good company. If you get a chance in the next month and you’re in or around Buffalo, check it out.

I look really stupid in this picture but it is one of the only two photos I have documenting the show.

This is a photo I found on the RoCo website from the night of the opening. Hopefully I will be adding some more. When I take the show down later this week I am going to take some video and post it. Pictured above, from left: Jason Jensen, Myka Yott, Bradley Butler, Sarah Butler

This is where I’m at on my newest painting. I usually don’t reveal my progress on a painting but this time I figure, what the hell why not. It’s a 34 in x 36 in canvas and will end up looking much different than it does now. What you see here are just base coats to give a general idea of what’s to come.

The owner of Tap and Mallet on Gregory Street in Rochester has expressed interest in my work. I will be hanging a number of paintings (new and old) on the walls there in about a week or so. I am very excited about this and look forward to displaying my work there. I stopped by over the weekend and it is a pretty cool place. Visit their website here. More details on this quite soon.
